Green Lantern Cast Grows, No Need For Alarm… Yet

Hitfix reports that Jackie Earle Haley (best known recently for playing Rorschach in Watchmen)  is being eyed by Warner Bros. to play Sinestro in the upcoming Green Lantern movie.  This addition adds to an already staggering list of characters that are said to appear in the film including (but not limited to) Abin Sur, Kilowog, Tomar-Re, the Guardians of the Universe, Legion, Hector Hammond, Guy Gardner, Clark Kent, and of course Hal Jordan.  There is also apparently another, yet unnamed, villain that will appear in the movie.

This movie runs the risk of pulling a “Spider-Man 3″ by throwing way too many characters at you without giving any time to flesh them out.  Don’t run to the bomb shelters on this one unless news breaks that Topher Grace has been casted as anything in the film, especially if it’s a character who wears a mask because that thing will never stay on.

And trust me on this one, the moment a grainy still of Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan is released we’ll be the first people to report on it.  Now that’s something you can take to the bank.

This post is coming a few weeks late but it needs to be made.  In my review of issue #555 I stated how I’m having a hard time seeing where the current Fantastic Four story arch fits into the Marvel continuity.  Well, this issue makes even less sense.

So far, the Fantastic Four in its new T+ world has been good. It still has all of the inter-space adventure they’re known for with the inclusion of risque topics like sex. The most recent issue sets the current story arc into full swing but raises a few questions.
